What?!?!?

So they want to change the Geneva Convention (too old, too quaint, too vague) from a prohibition against ''outrages upon personal dignity, in particular, humiliating and degrading treatment," to behavior that "shocks the conscience."

Well, I see why they would like this wording. They have no "conscience" to shock. They know this about themselves. Therefore, justification managed, thank you very much.

A**holes.

Nobody ever follows the Geneva convention unless they are being watched anyway. The entire pretense of civility regarding war, prisoners, etc. is ridiculous. I had few issues when our troops were deployed to Afghanistan to search for Bin Laden, but this entire Iraq invasion pisses me off. Especially since my husband, friends and other family members are military and they are in direct peril. The thought that they have been placed there by dottering old fools without conscience angers me beyond belief. And there is no way that the current administration will ever convince me that a 6 ft. arab on dialysis in the middle of a prehistoric wasteland was able to elude our troops unless our leaders didn't want him apprehended. This and other deceitful acts (WMD cough, cough) and claims only add to the absurdity of a Geneva Convention... revised or otherwise. Jesus may forgive Bush, but I've yet to reach that level of Christian goodness. He's one slimey mofo. End of rant...
So, with the beginning of school have you had a chance to do any spinning?

Plus there's the added bonus that they don't actually care what the law says. They don't have to follow it!

I personally feel that forgiveness is important in our immediate circle, not so much for the incompetents that we will never meet who destroy, well, everything. I'm with you.

I have done a bit of spinning this week and am working on my Spunky Eclectic Fiber Club stuff. I also ordered some Crown Mountain dyed superwash today as a gift to myself, so I will have some yellow/orange goodness next week sometime.

Thanks for visiting!
